We know first hand that planning a wedding can be stressful, but choosing the gown does not have to be. We are going to give you a breakdown of the timeline you need to order your dress with no stress and in plenty of time for your wedding.
When should you go wedding dress shopping?
You should start wedding dress shopping 10 to 12 months before your wedding to ensure no rush fees. But it is never too early to start.
Wedding gowns typically take between 6 and 8 months to arrive in our store once ordered.
If you are running behind, do not worry. We will try our hardest to make your dream gown a possibility. You can explore a wide range of styles in our wedding dress collection.
We also have plenty of sample gowns available that you can purchase right off the floor, and a rush order may be possible if your wedding date is approaching quickly. The best way to get started is to schedule an appointment with one of our bridal stylists.
What happens after I order my dress?
After your dress has been ordered, there is nothing left to do other than be patient. Your dream gown is in the process of being made and will be in your arms within 6 to 8 months.
In the meantime, you can shop for undergarments, shoes, and bridal accessories. Many brides also use this time to finalize their look and prepare for fittings.
Alterations
Our alterations department typically prefers to begin fittings about 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding. This helps ensure your gown fits perfectly while minimizing the chance that body measurements will change before the big day.
If you are short on time, our alterations team can often prepare your gown within just a few days with a small rush charge.
